Reduce
Waste: Spring Cleaning…in the Fall
There
is something about the arrival of fresh spring air and blossoming
foliage that makes us do a double-take at the stuff in our homes
once a year. Items or clothing we have outgrown or simply do not
wear. Electronics that are broken. And presents from Aunt Agnes that
we place in the closet for “safekeeping.”
What
if we did this in our businesses? And what if we didn’t wait until
after the last snow melts?
Well,
we might be like the Department of Toxic Substances Control in
California with an annual savings of more than $92,000 in our
pockets. The department found that state-issued cell phones were
being significantly underutilized, so the service plans for nearly
200 phones were terminated.
